Your just going to have to deal with it people, how often do you hang around in Great Temple anyway? I get maybe 1 or 2 of these things when I am trying to reroll a PvP, no big deal.

How about just auto banning anyone who whispers or says a message with "www.RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO" or any other gold selling site in it.

Could implement some sort of system to search every message for strings consisting of gold-selling site URLs and such. Auto-ban everyone who sends those.

Obviously, you haven't experienced gold spamming as I have.

It seems whenever I roll a PvP, I do only get 1 to 2 messages while in the GToB, but, it's like I'm kept on a list, and I keep receiving pm's wherever I go, my Guild Hall, Kamadan, anywhere, until I switch char's at least. It's incredibly annoying, especially when I'm whispering with someone else.

I've experienced it worse then you...and I have a quick fix. I simply put the losers on the ignore list and they don't bother me for the rest of the afternoon. Deal wih it.

best way to get rid of gold spammer is to impose a maximum sentence on players who buy online gold

without the demand, the supplier will have to move on.

A simple way to stop gold selling bots is to make trial accounts not be able to PM anyone who hasn't added or PMed the trial account first.

Ineffective and will hinder real players more than goldsellers

Hero battle Ladder:

#3 De Klootviool
#11 Vi Ru
#13 X Ma X Er X
#16 Vi Guillla Vi
#21 My Mpz
#23 Korea ???
#33 I Adzik I
#39 Pfefferkuchen Pferd

I think some, if not most, of these names would be "unacceptable" under new standards.
/notsigned. they need to go after the actual sites if they can, which sucks, because they can't.... so Anet pretty much has their hands tied on this one.

Excellent real world examples.
And that's just a list of the top 100. Now imagine how many false positives there would be for 4 million people.

Another possibility which may work better; prevent accounts less than 1 month old - or so - from posting to main or trade chat channels more than once every minute. It'd be annoying for a few legitimate players, but not that annoying, and not for too long...

It can be circumvented of course but it's not terribly easy.

Another way might be to prevent people from saying more than 20% of the lines in the chat buffer or something...
